Protection Controls Flame Safeguard Protectofier Model 6642VT with Timofier 60-15J (60-sec purge time) and allows for proof of closure (POC) contact on fuel valves to be interlocked before purge timer initiates. This is used as a single and/or a multi-burner combustion safeguard.

Timofier model is plugin with a fixed time assembly. The Proteciton Controls Timofier provides purge time and ignition trial time. The ignition trial time is deducted from the motor time cycle (1/2, 1, 1-1/4, 2, 3, 4, and 6 minutes available for manual and automatic models; 10 minutes for manual model only) to purge the time. Standard ignition trial time is 15 seconds. Also available in 10 second and 5 second trial time. Specify both purge and ignition times. Purge time shall allow system to have a minimum of four fresh air changes.

Please contact us if you wish to have a different timing period for purge or time trial for ignition.

The basic operation of the Protection Controls Protectofier model is that it monitors one or more burners and responds to the presence or absence of flame via the rectification principle. When using a flame rod, the flame itself serves as a switch to pen or close a DC circuit to the Protection Controls Flame Pak. Similarly, when using a Protection Controls P-C II Scanner, a DC signal source is created by the ultra-violet sensitive tube only when the flame is scanned. With either sensing system, if the signal from flame to Flame Pak is interrupted (response time, 4 seconds or less), the circuit to the safety shut-off valve is broken, which automatically shuts down the complete system (and can also energize circuit to alarm). The Protection Controls Telefier light instantly indicates faulty burner in a multi-burner system.
